About Purpleheart: Purpleheart is an incredibly strong and durable wood. It is also insect and water resistant. Its color starts out as a medium brown with faint purple accents, but deepens to an intense eggplant color over time and with UV light. The grain pattern is usually straight although it can appear wavy at times.
